BODYPUMP™ uses high-repetition movements with light to moderate weights to sculpt, BODYCOMBATtone and strengthen your entire body – fast.

BODYPUMP™ is based on scientific studies on how the human body best develops lean, athletic muscle. Known as the Rep Effect, high repetitions using light weights exhausts your muscles quickly, safely and effectively. In the same way body-builders use heavy weights and low repetitions to increase strength and build muscle mass, BODYPUMP™ uses the reverse to create a leaner, more balanced physique.

BODYPUMP™ gives you a total body workout using scientifically-developed moves and techniques proven to get results. Our trained instructors will guide you through the correct form, shout out encouragement and keep you motivated. Fast-tempo music keeps energy levels high as you push yourself to your limits and achieve better results than working-out alone can give.

The BODYPUMP™ programme is a great, all-round workout that targets all of the major muscles groups of the body. It works to burn fat and build lean muscle without adding unshapely bulk to your frame. BODYPUMP™ is about high repetitions with light weights, so injuries that come from heavy-lifting or improper form are rare. And because the BODYPUMP™ programme emphasises speed and agility, classes fly by in just 55 minutes.

BODYPUMP™ instructors are on hand to make sure you’re working out to your optimum ability in a safe and controlled manner. Here at Peak Physique we suggest beginners start with either very light weights or even just a bar without weights already added. This will set the base-rate on your performance, and future classes can be adjusted by adding more weight as necessary.

Because BODYPUMP™ classes use weights and involve a full-body workout involving all of your core muscle groups, Peak Physique suggests starting out with just one to two classes a week, building up to a maximum of three classes. Giving yourself a day between classes will allow you time for your muscles to rest, recover and strengthen.

If you’re just starting out on your road to fitness, our instructors suggest building up from four or five music tracks in the first few lessons to completing a full class as your fitness develops. Beginners will find their fitness and strength improves dramatically over a number of sessions, but it’s best not to overdo it in the first few classes.

With our BODYPUMP™ programme all you need to bring to the class are comfortable workout clothes, supportive shoes, a water bottle and a sweat towel. We’ll provide the weight bar, weight plates and step you need to take part.
