Step aerobics is the original aerobics style, distinguished from other types of aerobics by incorporating an elevated platform (the “step”) to increase your cardio workout and lower the strain on joints and muscles. Choreographed routines provided by our professional instructors here at Peak Fitness make this class a high-energy cardio workout, and suitable for men and women of all ages and sizes.

Classes vary in choreography and incorporate high-tempo music and incorporate dance elements such as turns, mambos, and stomps to keep you from going strong. Importantly, the height of the step can be tailored to an individual’s needs by inserting risers under the step. This means that whatever your level, you can make the class as easy or as difficult as you require.

Step aerobics is a fantastic and fun way to burn calories and fat. It also helps to reduce stress, promote restful sleep, strengthen muscles and gives the body a more streamline appearance. The number of calories burned depends on the speed of movements, step height, and length of exercise.
